Now if there is some addon out there that can fully restore the old floating combat text I’d be happy to hear it. You have to completely close WoW and relaunch it for the change to actually take effect. I believe 'Skurri' is the default font style blizz uses for this. Just go into the 'Media' tab in Elv and change the combat font. I don’t know what it was, but I just feel more connected to my character playing with those older floating combat texts, there is a better real-time feedback. All ElvUI does to the combat text is change the font. Since they have an option for displaying old character models in the game, can’t they also have an option to display old floating combat text aswell? After playing classic wow I can tell you I find the OLD floating combat text to be far more satisfying to watch than this new version. Atleast WoD had an option to go back to a previous version. I’ve been trying different addons but nothing can fully recreate the same floating combat text behaviour and size that we had in the pre-WoD days. In the Legion pre-patch however, when they simplified the UI, they removed this option entirely! There you could tick a box from “base” to “traditional” and essentially get the old floating combat text.
So back in WoD they had an “Floating Combat Text” tab in the interface options menu.
